The primary focus of my work is education. I’ve worked in the k-12 arena and have spent most of my time in the last couple of years in Higher Education.

  1. Hi Dave,

I stumbled across your blog while searching for a definitive definition for rhizomatic, and it took me to your blog post on rhizomatic learning. It has given me a new context for what I do. I was quite intrigued by your reference to rhizomatic learning, and though I had never heard of rhizomes used to describe learning, it makes complete sense to me. I am in the midst of my MEd at UVic, and my cursory viewing of your blog has me connecting to it. I wonder if we’ll connect sometime about education. Thanks for your blog.

  2. Hello Dave,

How surprising! My story is the same as Richard Lee’s. I was reading Michael Fielding and Peter Moss’ ‘Radical Education and the Common School’ where I discovered the concept of ‘rhizomatic learning’ which was introduced by French philosopher, Gilles Deleuze and psychoanalyst, Felix Guattari in their book, ‘A Thousand Plateau’. I wanted to know some more about the concept which led me to your site.

I found your write-ups stimulating. Thanks for this.
