Tossing learners in at the deep end worked well for me! I’ve attended classes in which the pace is so slow that I end up losing focus. Going to the opposite extreme might not seem like a good idea, but the time zipped by and everyone seemed to stay focused and pick up a lot of new skills.

In addition to learning skills, I think that the sense of accomplishment at the end of the class was the big surprise. Everybody left on a high, and seemed to be impressed with what they had achieved in so little time.
