The concept of a contract between the parties is an excellent idea.

Just to keep the spirit of rhizomatic learning, I would suggest to put a time framed contract revision clause, every X amount of days, weeks, months or years, where the contract should be revised by both parties being the contract the accreditation of the course goals to achieve.

Just to make it two ways, I would suggest a list of tools brought by the student into the mix, and if the teacher does not know it, a commitment to teach those to the group.
